Ingredients
I divided the list of ingredients for different products into separate ones. Convenience is the key. This detailed assortment will help you devise the desired result with no mess.
For dough
To start making dough, we’ll need a handful of ingredients to make this quick and easy dough.
All-purpose flour: Also called Maida, it is budget-friendly and suitable for all baked goods. It’s easy to find and yields a fantastic soft, chewy crust. Crispy from the edges is a perk.
Yeast: It is the basic ingredient responsible for the fermentation. It makes dough rise after combining with liquid and sugar.
Pinch of salt: It is inevitable to boost the flavor of your bread and add strength to your dough.
Sugar: It seems unnecessary, but sugar speeds up fermentation and instantly boosts yeast.
Oil: Oil provides richness, moisture, and flavor. It softens the dough and improves its capacity to stretch when rolling out.
Yogurt: The yogurt offers softness and tang to the dough. It also makes the dough tighter.
Water (as needed): Water is essential to knead the dough.
For chicken
Oil: oil helps the spices and herbs stick to the chicken.
Chicken: Take the boneless chicken and cut it into small chunks.
A pinch of salt: Salt to taste is undebatable in any savory dish. Add it according to your taste.
Red chilli flakes: They spice up homemade pizza and give the chicken a burst of
flavor.
Pinch of food color: It gives the color of warmness.
Water: A small amount of water is necessary to get food color ready for marination.
For Pizza sauce
Tomato ketchup: Ketchup forms the base of pizza sauce.
Black pepper: It works well with spices, seasonings, and toppings that intensify relish on your taste buds. Plus, when combined with salt, it enhances the flavours of traditional sauces and pizza toppings.
Oregano: Oregano is an Italian seasoning that helps thicken the pizza sauce, a key to non-soggy pizza. I used dried oregano but you can use fresh herbs.
Garam masala: Garam masala is an iconic Indian spice blend that offers sweetness and earthiness to the recipe.
Pizza toppings
Bell pepper: Thinly cut bell pepper adds mild flavour and makes it a good complement to other toppings.
Tomatoes: These are critical components in giving the pizza its distinct flavor.
Mozzarella cheese: Mostly, cheese is misperceived as unhealthy. On the contrary, it is a rich source of protein and has the highest levels of natural glutamate- a DNA building block.

Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: I used only six ingredients to make this easy, chewy, flavorful pizza dough! The real spirit of dough-making is its fluffiness that depends on yeast. Mix sugar, salt, and yogurt in all-purpose flour very well. After five minutes, pour the yeast mix in all-purpose flour and gently combine. Knead the flour for a few minutes by adding more lukewarm water to make a soft, smooth dough. Brush a large bowl with oil and set the dough inside. Cover the bowl nicely with plastic film, which helps lock the moisture. Set it aside for 1 -2 hours till the dough is double the size.
- Prepare the chicken: Chicken without marination tastes bland, but you don’t need to be worry in this case. Because when chicken meets with pizza sauce on a crust it gives an amazing flavor. I just added red chili flakes and salt. Oh yes, I like to give a hot hue to chicken chunks. So, I mixed a pinch of food color in water. After adding water, cover it for 20 minutes. Cook it properly and let it cool.
- Prepare the sauce: I make this vegan pizza sauce recipe using tomato ketchup, but freshly blended tomatoes go nicely with the recipe. Then, add the remaining ingredients, like black pepper, oregano, and Garam masala. Mix until the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the sauce.
- Dust your work surface with flour. Roll the pizza dough with a rolling pin to your desired thickness. Form a slightly thicker border around the edges with your fingers.
- Apply butter to the pizza pan. Transfer dough to pizza pan. Spread the pizza sauce onto the dough. Top with cooked chicken, bell peppers, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella cheese.
- Heat the pizza pan or saucepan on low flame. Place the steamer, then put the pizza pan on it. Cover the lid for 20 minutes on low flame. The dough is turned into a soft chewy crust inside and crisp outside with melting cheese. Your cheesy peasy homemade pizza is ready to munch.
Note: You can also use the oven for this recipe.
Nabeela Pro Tips
- Warm water is the key to raising the dough. Ensure it’s not too hot, or it’ll kill the yeast.
- The dough rises best somewhere warm, like a sunny kitchen countertop.
- If the dough is too sticky, apply oil on your hands and pat the dough.
- Invest in a good pizza pan. You want a pizza that will cook the crust evenly on all sides, including the bottom.
- Never put fresh oregano on a pizza before cooking. It will burn and turn bitter.
- Avoid larger cuts or chunks of bell pepper while applying raw to a pizza. It won’t cook thoroughly and overpower other flavors.
- Precook the marinated chicken before baking. Pizzas usually don’t take very long to bake, and hence, adding raw chicken won’t cook thoroughly.
- Use already marinated and cooked chicken to save time. You can make it ahead of time.
- The essence of a pizza lies in the pizza sauce. Never mind spreading a nice, thick, and even layer on top of your pizza dough to enjoy each nibble.
