Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to indulge in festive treats, and this Valentine’s Puppy Chow recipe is as fun to make as it is delicious to eat. Also known as “Muddy Buddies,” this treat gets a romantic twist with its colorful pink, red, and white theme.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups rice cereal squares e.g., Chex
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup pink candy melts
  • 1/2 cup red candy melts
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup red and white M&M's
  • 1/2 cup heart-shaped candies or sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment or wax paper for easy cleanup.
  • Divide the rice cereal into three bowls, with 2 cups of cereal in each.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth. Repeat with the pink and red candy melts in separate bowls.
  • Pour the melted white chocolate over one bowl of cereal, stirring gently to coat. Repeat this step with the pink and red candy melts for the other two bowls of cereal.
  • Transfer each coated cereal batch into a zip-top bag, add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar to each, and shake well until the cereal is fully coated.
  • Spread the coated cereal onto the prepared baking sheet and let it set.
  • Once the cereal is dry, combine all three colors in a large mixing bowl. Add M&M's, heart-shaped candies, and sprinkles, gently mixing everything together.
  • Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
