1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon unsalted butter 3 garlic cloves minced 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for a little heat 1 cup chicken broth 1 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup marinara sauce or any tomato-based pasta sauce 9 oz cheese tortellini fresh or refrigerated 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped (plus more for garnish) Optional toppings: Shredded mozzarella extra parmesan, or fresh parsley
Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet; cook chicken until golden. Remove and set aside.
