Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Souvlaki:

  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for more tenderness)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Wooden skewers soaked in water for 30 minutes, if grilling

For the Tzatziki Sauce:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt full-fat or low-fat
  • ½ cucumber grated (or finely diced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill or 1 teaspoon dried
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Serving (Optional):

  • Pita bread or flatbreads
  • Fresh chopped vegetables tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions
  • Feta cheese crumbled
  • Kalamata olives
  • Fresh parsley chopped

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
  • Prepare tzatziki sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon, and dill.
  • Grill chicken skewers for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • Serve with warm pita, tzatziki sauce, and your favorite sides.
