Ingredients
  

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • ¼ cup red sanding sugar for rolling
  • 24 Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg, vanilla extract, and milk to the butter mixture, mixing until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
  • Roll each dough ball in red sanding sugar until fully coated.
  • Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are slightly puffed and set but not browned.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and immediately press a Hershey’s Candy Cane Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Serve and enjoy these festive Valentine cookies!
