4th of July Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract optional
  • Red white, and blue sprinkles
  • Red and blue food coloring optional

Instructions
 

  • Grease a 9x13-inch pan or line with parchment paper.
  • Melt butter in a large pot over low heat.
  • Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract.
  • (Optional) Divide mixture and add food coloring for layers.
  • Stir in Rice Krispies until evenly coated.
  • Transfer to pan and gently press into an even layer.
  • Add sprinkles on top while still warm.
  • Let cool for 30–45 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Use fresh marshmallows for best texture
  • Don’t press too firmly to keep treats soft
  • Grease spatula or hands to prevent sticking
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days
